Santa and music and trees and lights – it must be Christmas at Fair Haven! We began decorating and celebrating the Christmas Season as soon as December arrived, right on the heels of Thanksgiving, and we have more Holiday celebrations still to come!

On December 14, Fair Haven’s largest party was held in the new grand living room. Fair Haven recently completed a $42.5 million construction and renovation project which provided the refreshing backdrop for the party.
Residents from all over the campus turned out for the gathering.

“Children of all ages” took pictures with Santa and enjoyed the food, fellowship, dancing, and ambiance. The Max Groove Band entertained the crowd with a variety of Christmas music. The staff served tasty treats and scrumptious drinks out of the new bistro.

Other gatherings and parties have been and are still taking place in households and neighborhoods across the campus. Some residents have ventured out shopping and visiting popular local Christmas attractions. A number of United Methodist Women’s groups and other special guests have volunteered their time this season to bring gifts, music talents, and just spend time with residents. How blessed we are that Fair Haven’s senior adults enjoy such an outpouring of love and attention!

Soon we will be ringing in the New Year with parties and toasts and kisses as we all make our New Year’s resolutions. We are looking forward to what 2019 has in store!

And how exciting it was to have the opportunity to see the “new” Fair Haven covered in snow on December 8! It’s not unheard of to have snow in Alabama, but it certainly is not an every season occurrence.
