Fair Haven is proud to welcome three new marketing team members to help Birmingham senior adults discover the benefits of retirement community life.
CYNDI EDWARDS, Director of Marketing and Admissions
Cyndi Edwards’ love of senior adults began with growing up in the custody of her grandmother.
“Older adults have always had a special place in my life,” Cyndi said. “At age 28, I cared for my father on hospice and changed my career direction to assisting families and elders with finding the healthcare they need.”
Working in social services, billing, marketing and admissions, Cyndi is a 25-year veteran of senior living in long term care. She has been an Alabama Certified Medical Account Representative since 1999, and spent time as a Medicaid application advisor for two Birmingham law offices.
Cyndi values compassion and understanding, and hopes that she will model these character traits to residents and their families. She has a particular fondness for Fair Haven, as she sang for residents with various children and youth choirs throughout her years growing up in the United Methodist Church.“My prayer is that my years of experience, both professionally and personally, will be of help to all who seek shelter and care through Fair Haven.”
This month Cyndi and her husband Wade (a SMSgt with the US Air Force) celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. They have two children, a new son-in-law, and a menagerie of grand-puppies, cats and turtles. She and Wade like to travel as often as possible, and enjoy sharing the kitchen and entertaining family and friends.
HAYLEY CRUMPTON, Admissions Coordinator
Hayley Crumpton comes to Fair Haven with 7 years of experience in various areas of long term care, the last three in admission coordination. The influence of one of her grandmothers, who was a nurse and former director of nursing at a skilled nursing facility, had significant impact on why Hayley works in senior living today.
Providing the best services to Fair Haven families and their loved ones seeking care stems from Hayley’s positive attitude and strong work ethic. She said she is excited to be on a team that is dedicated to and passionate about the care of senior adults.
Hayley and her husband Dane are parents to a one-year-old son, Dillon. They like to go to the beach and are Harley Davidson enthusiasts, enjoying scenic rides on pretty afternoons.
MOLLY McFARLAND McFERRIN, Community Liaison
Molly McFarland McFerrin graduated from UAB in 2011 with a BA in Public Relations, and a minor in Psychology. Prior to coming to Fair Haven, she spent five years with Kindred at Home, a home health care company. She earned a deep passion for the needs of senior adults through a close relationship with her husband’s grandmother, Courteney. Courteney lived in a retirement community and Molly helped to take care of her until her death in 2020.
Molly said she hopes to continue educating people about what places like Fair Haven can do for senior adults. “It is so important that we as a community have a place for our loved ones to come to and receive the level of care that is needed to keep them happy and healthy.”
In her free time, Molly and her husband love to cook, go to concerts and enjoy weekends at the lake. One day they would like to have a farm.
